Ducks Take Flight

A large antique millstone has been used to create a spectacular water feature in a garden south of Harrogate.

We sold this fabulous 5′ diameter millstone to one of our customers who placed it in the centre of a purpose built pond.

It has been raised up on a plinth by about a foot.  Water circulates up through the centre of the millstone, and cascades over the stone into the pond.

A bronze sculpture of a flight of ducks set the scene, and the pond is floodlit by night which looks stunning.

The pond comes to life with water lilies and other marginal plants.

It is lovely to see a reclaimed (previously  abandoned) millstone brought back to life in this stunning garden where it will be cherished and enjoyed for years to come.
